Although I want to encourage you to listen to movies in English without subtitles 😉 I also want you to enjoy English movies, and they can help improve your listening ability!  If you use VLC movie player (perhaps other players can do this too) you can use a separate subtitle file while watching your video.  If you go to http://www.opensubtitles.org/en or the chinese version, http://www.opensubtitles.org/zh you can find and download chinese subtitles for many movies.  The only problem for Taiwanese is that these subtitles seem to only be available in Traditional Chinese.  Otherwise, you could register on the website, and contribute subtitles for movies.  There are some great free software applications which you can use to make subtitles.  I use Miyo for Mac OS X 10.4, but there are also some subtitle edititng programs available for Win XP or Vista.  If you have questions, or want help learning how to make subtitles, or finding them, please email me or ask me in person.
