Latin and Greek contribute much to the English language. Many prefixes and suffixes come from these two languages. This can help recognize new words when you see them by recognizing the prefix or suffix of the word, as well as the root word. Often times English speakers rely on these prefixes and suffixes to identify new words without using a dictionary, and also to identify if a word is a verb or noun. Sometimes just knowing these prefixes and suffixes well can help me conjugate words nouns into verbs and vice-versa. Here are some websites which can teach you Latin and Greek suffixes.
