I like to use Youtube.com to check out some movie reviews. There are a few channels on Youtube that actually give great reviews. Some are funny, some are serious. Here are a few of them with MY REVIEW – of their reviews, along with a listening difficulty rating.

These reviews are kinda funny. The two guys sit around and make fun of the movie. Their review is really well produced and includes some cartoon sequences that poke fun at the movie. Their conversation is tough, and very very natural native speaker conversation pace. In that respect, these reviews will help you with your “bar conversation” listening skills, and prepare you for casual conversation.

IndyMogul – Difficulthttp://www.youtube.com/user/indymogul

This Canadian girl gives a good review of many movies. She is a clear speaker, and doesn’t crack many jokes, but she talks about movies movies movies. That is, she uses lots of movie jargon and language that some people might not know. Is that a pro, or con? I guess it depends on the person. The name of her channel, “Indy Mogul” describes the reason why. She probably works in the “Indy” or “independent” movie industry and considers herself a “mogul”, or “expert”.
